Course Description
To achieve the comprehensive AI literacy that it aims at, the course pools the resources of all of BNBU’s academic units—its Faculties of Science and Technology, of Business and Management, of Humanities and Social Sciences and its Schools of Culture and Creativity and of General Education. The course consists of five modules; each Faculty/School has designed the module that corresponds to its field of expertise. The course’s teaching mode consists of lectures and tutorials. Each module contains at least one tutorial where students can apply AI in practice.
Course Intended Learning Outcomes
Upon completion of this course, students should be able to
· Explain key concepts and technologies of AI, including machine learning, Natural Language Processing, and generative AI, as well as their applications and implications in real-world scenarios;
· Describe the role and implications of AI in the contemporary economy and society;
· Apply generative AI tools for creating endeavor and reflect on their interplay with human creativity;
· Use Large Language Models as effective tools for third language acquisition, including developing simple AI-powered language-learning applications with beginner-friendly programming tools, and visualize fundamental mathematical concepts related to language processing;
· Identify how AI tools can support English writing and the impact it can make on language and culture.

A student who is currently studying for a bachelor degree.

Course Fee
RMB5,000 for BNBU, HKBU and HKCHC students;
RMB7,500 for the students from other colleges/ universities.
Accomodation Fee
BNBU students (Non-graduates): RMB10/ Person/ Day
BNBU graduates: RMB60/ Person/ Day
HKBU, HKCHC and other students: RMB60/ Person/ Day
