Regulations governing Course Withdrawal after Add/Drop Period (Semester 2 of AY2025/26)
The Online System for Course Withdrawal Application is now available on PC platform at https://portal.bnbu.edu.cn (recommended) and WeCom. For details on how to use the system, please refer to the attached User Guide.

According to the general regulations for undergraduate degree programmes, permission to withdraw from courses after the deadline for dropping courses will only be given under exceptional circumstances such as illness, personal or academic problems. Application for course withdrawal has to be supported by valid reason with evidence. The supporting evidence could be medical proof issued by a hospital (required for illness), proof of family situation, or personal statement etc.

Students who wish to withdraw from a course for Semester 2 of AY2025/26 must submit the online application form along with supporting evidence on or before 27 April 2026 (5:00 PM) for the approval of (1) the course instructor concerned, (2) Department Head (student's home faculty/school), (3) the Academic Registry. If more information is required for your application, you will receive notifications via both email and WeCom. The outcome of your application, whether approved or rejected, will also be communicated through these channels. Additionally, you can track the status of your application by accessing the "Services Center (on the top navigation bar) > My application" at https://portal.bnbu.edu.cn or "Services Center > My Request" on WeCom.

Please note that course withdrawal is different from dropping courses. Courses dropped during ADD/DROP period are deregistered from students' timetables and will not appear on their transcripts. However, courses approved for withdrawal are still registered on students' timetables and will be assigned a "W" grade on their transcripts. Grade "W" is NOT included in the GPA calculation.
